Challenges

The Chapi project will develop a new generation of programmable circuits for embedded applications that require high performance and flexibility. It will involve: 1. Testing a first generation of circuits in various industrial settings typical of the circuits' target markets; 2. Incorporating software development tools that will facilitate the development of new applications.

Objectives

1. Project engineers will make industrial prototypes using the first generation of multi-purpose processor array (MPPA) circuits developed by Kalray, for applications in HD video encoding, image processing, transportation, and process control. 2. Integration of system-level programming environments for MPPAs. 3. An operating system and a series of tools for applications with high operating reliability requirements will be adapted to MPPAs.
