To support our growth, we are recruiting a Software Development Tools & Methods Engineer for our DPU Software Engineering / Core Software Team. Join the adventure!
POSITION
Job brief:
The team is in charge of the tools & methods for SW development in Kalray: it manages continuous integration (jenkins), bug trackers (now phabricator), requirement trackers (jama), code versionning tools (git), as well as developments processes, from single commit to customer releases.
The team also manage a stack of around fifty machines, from big servers to small ARM devices.
This team support all the software development teams in Kalray (both core software and business lines).
It also trains newcomers on these tools and methods.
This is a role between SW development, IT and process/quality.
In order to enhance the development process in Kalray, we choose to switch from phabricator to jira. In this context, we are looking for a motivated engineer to handle this activity.
Responsabilities:
Your first responsibility will be to manage:
- The deployment of the Jira solution in Kalray: integration in the current ecosystem (git, jenkins, jama, gerrit…).
- It also includes communication with other teams and deployment plan.
- The administration of Jira, especially from a process (quality) point of view.
- The internal support for this activity.
Some help on other team activities will be greatly appreciated:
- management of computer farm and debugging common issues.
- management of other SW tools like git/gerrit/jenkins/jama, etc…
- take part of the evolution of tools & methods for SW development in Kalray.
CANDIDATE
Soft Skills (teamwork, problem solving, etc…):
- Good knowledge of Linux (ubuntu/centos).
- Quality mindset.
- DevOps experience & mindset.
- Familiar with script languages such as ruby, python, bash, Makefiles.
- Good communication.
- Able to document processes and train people.
Requirements (study degree , experience, etc…):
- BAC+5.
- 2 to 10 years experience.
- Experience in tools deployment, administration & support (such as Jira, Jama, Jenkins, Gerrit, Git, Gitolite, or similar).
Nice to have (experience in a specific software, in a xx environment, etc…):
- Notions of network infrastructure.
- Notions VM and/or docker management.
- Notions of how works a package manager (RPM/DEB).
- Debugging/problem solving.
CONTRACT
- Type of contract: full time contract (CDI).
