The goal is to develop a proof-of-concept prototype that uses low-cost technologies and minimal energy. It will take the form of a self-contained unit that can then be integrated into recycling containers, where it would detect and identify waste, count the number of items, and estimate the size of the items. The project objectives are a complete prototype for glass and proof-of-concept for paper.
